Liquor Licenses In Sioux Falls: 105

December 4, 2012, 6:08 PM by Don Jorgensen

Liquor Licenses In Sioux Falls: 105
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Liquor licenses used to be a highly coveted item in Sioux Falls. But we did some checking with the city and found out there are some still available.

The city is authorized 105 liquor licenses.  That's based on 1 per every 1,500 people in the city.

They cost $192,360 a piece.

Right now, there are six available.  13 establishments are on a waiting list to get one for next year.

Because the city is in the process of renewing liquor license for 2013, officials called all 13 of those establishments on the waiting list and asked them if they are interested in obtaining one for next year.  At this time, none of them are.
