Standoff In Sioux Falls Ends With Man In Custody
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Sioux Falls police have taken a man into custody following a standoff.

The man was taken into custody shortly before 6 p.m. on Monday.

The standoff started several hours earlier in the 400 block of North Indiana Avenue near Sixth Street.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens says officers initially responded to a call about a suicidal person that turned into someone being barricaded. The man had been by himself and had a gun.

As a precaution, the school was locked down, but busses left as normal and students were released to parents.

Authorities say the name of the suspect will not be released because no charges are expected.
