13 Nonprofits To Share $200,000 In Television Airtime

KELOLAND TV will donate $200,000 in airtime to 13 nonprofit organizations in 2013. The Avera Tradition of Caring in KELOLAND grant program will award grants to local nonprofit organizations to provide education and awareness of their organization.

The organizations receiving grants are:  Catholic Family Services, Family Connection, Feeding South Dakota, From The H.E.A.R.T, Furniture Mission of South Dakota, Interlakes Community Action Partnership, Native American Advocacy Program, SPURS Therapeutic Riding Center, Sioux Falls Area Community FoundationSouth Dakota Achieve, South Dakota Lion’s Eye Bank, Teddy Bear Den and Yellow Bike Program.

“We are pleased to support the mission of each of these organizations with an effective television campaign.” said Jay Huizenga KELOLAND TV Vice President and General Manager.  “We hear success stories every year on how these grants help organizations help others.”

“It is gratifying to know that so many organizations are doing such great work across the region and Avera is pleased to be able to support these organizations said,  Daryl Thuringer, Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations for Avera Health. ”Without the work all of these organizations do, many people would be left in need of services.”
Earlier this year, KELOLAND TV partnered with Avera Health System for “The Avera Tradition of Caring in KELOLAND” continuing and growing program that began in 1998.  Now both great organizations will work together in meeting the core goal of helping others in the community.  In 2012, 11 organizations benefited from the grant program.
