A convicted child sex offender is facing life in prison after turning himself in to authorities on Tuesday in Sioux Falls.
29-year-old Kristopher Aslesen had been on the run for 10 days after allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl earlier this month. On Wednesday, a judge made sure Aslesen won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
Aslesen will remain locked up for awhile after a judge set his bail at half million dollars cash only.
Aslesen is charged with two counts of first-degree rape, which is punishable by life in prison.
An arrest warrant was issued for Aslesen on November 16 after the victim in this case, who won't be identified, told a friend at school that Aslesen makes her sit on his lap.
According to these court papers, the victim says Aslesen does things to her that might get her pregnant. It goes on to say Aslesen made the girl perform oral sex on him and had sex with her lots of times. It would happen in her bedroom.
The 11-year-old victim was interviewed and tested for sexually transmitted diseases at Child's Voice. According to court papers, she tested positive for Chlamydia.
This isn't the first time Aslesen has been in trouble. In 2003, he was convicted of sexual contact with two 12-year-old girls in Davison County.
