WBK: Lady T's Top Presentation
MADISON, SD -

Dakota State used a 31-13 scoring run to close the first-half for a 53-35 halftime lead over Presentation (S.D.) Tuesday evening at the DSU Fieldhouse.  The Lady T’s won their second straight game, defeating the Saints by the score of 88-67.

Dakota State improved their overall record to 3-4.  Presentation, member of NCAA Division III Independent, suffered their second straight defeat and dipped their overall record to 2-2.

DSU and PC battled through four ties and eight lead changes in the first 10 minutes of the game.  With the score tied at 22-22 with 9:58 left in the first-half, the Lady T’s scored 10 straight points within one minute-and-half to earn a 32-22 lead. 

The Lady T’s shot 52.6 percent from the field (20-for-38) in the game’s first twenty minutes for an 18-point halftime lead.  Presentation was 12-for-33 from the field (36.4 percent).

Dakota State maintained their double digits lead in the second-half.  The Lady T’s had the largest lead of the game at 84-61 with 3:52 remaining.

DSU outscored Presentation 35-32 in the second-half.

Kylie Westover and Katy Pillar each had 17 points for the Lady T’s.  Pillar was 8-for-11 from the field.  Alyson Drooger added 15 points.  Cassie Jacobsen scored eight points. 

Drooger pulled down nine rebounds and recorded four blocked shots for DSU.  Courtney Hamblin earned nine rebounds and stole the ball three times.  Pillar added eight rebounds. 

Kendra Lindblad dished out eight assists for Dakota State.  Drooger added six assists. 

Drooger, Westover, Yui Onodera and Lindblad each had two steals for the Lady T’s.

Rachel Fuhrman poured in 31 points for the Saints.  She had nine rebounds and three blocked shots.  Kelli Boekelheide recorded a double-double of 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.  Hannah Phillips added 15 points.

Phillips and Abbie Geraci each produced three assists.  Boekelheide and Karly Fuhrman each had two blocked shots.

Dakota State shot 44.3 percent overall from the field (35-for-79) compared to the Saints’ 35.8 percent (24-for-67).  PC drained eight 3-pointers in 26 attempts (30.8 percent) while DSU was 5-for-22 from the 3-point line (22.7 percent).

Both teams missed two free-throws in the game.  DSU was 13-for-15 from the free-throw line (86.7 percent) compared to the Saints 11-for-13 (84.6 percent).

The Lady T’s pulled down 53 rebounds (22 offensive rebounds) compared to the Saints’ 36 rebounds.  DSU outscored PC 22-6 in second-chance points.

Dakota State scored 54 points inside the paint while Saints scored 18 points.

DSU looks to extend their winning streak on Saturday afternoon.  The Lady T’s visit Martin Luther (Minn.) in New Ulm, Minn.  Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at the Luther Student Center.
