Storm Center Update - Sunday AM

Snow is flying in western South Dakota.  Elsewhere, we have near full cloud-cover.  Temperatures will cool off considerably in the west today, as this area of rain-snow mix stays in place for a while.
It still looks like the Black Hills and north-central Nebraska will see the best snow accumulation.  Initially, the air is too warm for much snow to pile up.  This will change later in the day.  The system will come in two waves; the second comes overnight with more energy arriving to the Black Hills.  Cold and drier air with then push into northern South Dakota which will choke off more snowfall and push the system into Nebraska tomorrow afternoon. 
Pierre is on the edge of the snow-line and could see less than an inch.  Tomorrow, computer models nudge the eastern edge closer to Sioux Falls.  We have a slim chance at seeing flurries or a dusting in Sioux Falls, but the chance is slim.  The better shot would be towards Yankton or Sioux City. 
Some areas of the Hills could see upwards of four inches of snow, with locally higher totals possible.  In a thin band to the southeast of Rapid City, we could see around two inches.  Towards Pierre, totals will be less.
Very cold air moves into the NE tonight.  We’ll wake up to single-digit temps.  Tomorrow will be noticeably colder with highs struggling all day. 
By Tuesday, high pressure takes back over and we’ll have a late-November warming trend.
