Storm Center Update - Tuesday PM

November 20, 2012, 2:40 PM by Scot Mundt

The mild afternoon today will continue tonight as temperatures only fall to the thirties and low forties.  This will happen with light south winds.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and warm.  We’ll have to watch for record highs as temperatures climb to the upper sixties to lower seventies.  Winds will be southerly at around ten to twenty miles per hour.

Thanksgiving will be ten to twenty (or more) degrees cooler due to the passage of a cold front.  North winds will eventually kick in at fifteen to thirty miles per hour allowing for the colder temperatures.  The cold air will stick around for Friday.  Friday morning will still be breezy with temperatures in the middle twenties.  Friday afternoon will also be cold with highs only in the upper twenties to lower thirties in eastern KELOLAND; it will be a little warmer in the west.

Saturday will be a little warmer with highs returning to average in eastern KELOLAND to the fifties in the central and west.  Sunday will be slightly cooler with highs falling to the thirties in the east to the forties in the central and west.  We expect cold air to take hold of all of KELOLAND early next week.  Along with the colder air, snow will be possible in western South Dakota on Monday.
