Warm Thanksgiving Week

November 19, 2012, 5:16 PM by Scot Mundt

Warm Thanksgiving Week

The temperatures this week are more reflective of Easter, not Thanksgiving week. By this time of year, the next five days usually average in the middle to upper 30s in eastern KELOLAND to the middle 40s in western South Dakota. But this Thanksgiving week will be much warmer.

When you average out the forecast highs for Monday through Friday, it ranges from the low to middle 50s in eastern KELOLAND to the low 60s in the west. These are April numbers, not late November.

The warmest day will be Wednesday, when highs travel to the upper 60s and lower 70s.  These temps will be close to record setting. But colder air will eventually dive in late in the day on Thanksgiving in eastern KELOLAND; the cool will arrive a little sooner in the north and west. It will make for a cold morning for the Black Friday bargain shoppers.

Enjoy this week because we're starting to get indications much colder air is on the way.
