WBK: O'Malley To Play At Mount Marty

Mount Marty College is pleased to announce the athletic signing of Kieran O’Malley of Centerville, SD to play basketball for the Lancers next fall.

O’Malley, a 5’8” point guard, averaged 23 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3.8 steals per game.  She currently holds the career scoring record of over 1800 points at Centerville High School as well as most points in a game, and most steals in a career. During her high school career, O’Malley was awarded Most Valuable Player, 1st team All-State on two occasions, Argus Leader’s Second Five Team, State B All-Tournament Team, First Team All-Conference, and Southeast Area 3 Point Champion.

Lancers head women’s basketball coach, Tom Schlimgen, is excited about the signing of O’Malley. “Kieran was a top recruit for us and she’s an excellent offensive player.  We look forward to her career here at Mount Marty.”

Off the court, O’Malley has been very active in school and community activities. During her high school career, she was on the A Honor Roll, part of Girls State, an A+ Student of the Week, and participated in Helpers, SADD, FFA, band and student council.

In addition to her basketball award O’Malley is also receiving an academic honors scholarship.  The daughter of Pat and Colleen O’Malley of Centerville she plans to major in graphic design at Mount Marty College.
