Raising Awareness About Underage Parties

November 15, 2012, 12:01 PM by Perry Groten

Raising Awareness About Underage Parties
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

With the holiday party season upon us, organizations such as Parents Matter are getting the word out to parents about teenagers and partying.

South Dakota parents in 130 school districts are receiving letters and a brochure urging them to say no to house parties.

According to Parents Matter, South Dakota teenagers drink at house parties more than at any other place. And experts say unsupervised house parties are an open invitation for more teens to drink too much and place themselves in grave danger.

Tonight on KELOLAND News, we'll talk with one concerned Sioux Falls parent who was a teenager invited to join an underage party.
