Early Voters Casting Their Ballots Before Tuesday

November 3, 2012, 5:06 PM by Jenna Petrak

Early Voters Casting Their Ballots Before Tuesday
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

With days counting down until Election Day, it's no surprise that the Minnehaha County auditor's office is busy with early voters casting a ballot before Tuesday.

Hundreds of people braved the lines to come cast their ballot early.

Polls were open for absentee voting Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, that way more people could take advantage of absentee voting.

And for some, casting their ballot today is more convenient than waiting until Tuesday.

"I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it out and I've helped with elections in the past and I just wanted to come out and get my vote to be sure I get it done," absentee voter Denise Tucker said.

If you have a ballot that's has been mailed or delivered to you, you have until 7 p.m. tuesday to get it to the auditor's office.

The deadline to vote absentee in person is 3:00 p.m. on November 6.

And of course, you can always cast your vote on election day.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
