Noem, Varilek Debate Issues On KELOLAND
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The candidates for South Dakota's lone U.S. House seat will meet in a debate on KELOLAND Friday evening.

Congresswoman Kristi Noem and challenger Matt Varilek will take part in the only commercial-television debate of the campaign.  It starts at 7 p.m. CDT.

A coin toss during KELOLAND News at 6 determined who will go first in opening statements, who gets the first question, who gets to go last with closing statements and who gets to meet with the media first after the debate.

Varilek won the toss and elected to do the final closing statement and meet with the media first.  That means Noem will give the first opening statement and receive the last question.  As the loser of the coin toss, Noem also gets to choose where she sits.
