Report Crime Online In Sioux Falls

November 2, 2012, 4:46 PM by Don Jorgensen

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

There's now an easier way for people to report a crime in Sioux Falls.  Police are using "Cop Logic," which is an online police reporting system.

Authorities say it's a 24-hour resource that allows officers to respond to a crime more quickly like thefts and vandalisms.  Last year, police responded to 85,000 calls.

"It's conceivable that easily a third of the cases, the reports we now take could re reported online," Sioux Falls Chief of Police Doug Barthel said.

Police say the online reports will still receive the same follow-up as other police reports. You can access the online reporting by visiting the Sioux Falls police department's web site.
