We’ve had plenty of clouds today but also some brief periods of sunshine. That will be the story through Tuesday, as well. Temperatures peaked a little bit warm today and more warmth comes through Friday. Tonight, we expect skies to clear before sunrise. Normally this wouldn’t be too big of an issue. But on the back edge of the clouds fog should re-develop in central South Dakota. If winds also calm down, the fog could be an inconvenience tomorrow morning.
Clouds models are starting to agree on some more sunshine Monday. We’ve gone variably cloudy across most of the area, meaning that you’ll see times of both clouds and of sunshine. Highs will start warming into the 60s in the far west.
A disturbance comes through the northwest late tomorrow. There is not much moisture to tap into, but very light rain showers are still possible along the North Dakota border. We’ve put an outside chance back in for Aberdeen very early Tuesday morning. Again, this should not amount to much rain at all.
This system will leave clouds for much of Tuesday even though we’ll be a bit warmer. Skies in the Sioux Falls area should eventually clear somewhat before sunset. By Wednesday more sunshine arrives and should last through Friday.
Friday also looks like the warmest day of the week. The south breeze will pick back up ahead of the next cold front coming late Friday. A chance of isolated showers remains in the Black Hills with cooler weather next Saturday.
