Dog Breeds From US And Canada Fill Expo Building

October 28, 2012, 5:09 PM by Jenna Petrak

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

More than 160 different dog breeds from the United States and Canada filled the expo building in Sioux Falls this weekend for the Sioux Empire Kennel Club's all breed show and obedience trials.

Judges were rewarding dogs that best fit their breed. Organizers says this year's show was very successful, but their favorite part is opening the show up to the public.

"I love when the public come in that has never been to a dog show because you see breeds here that you never see. We as show people, see them so we are used to seeing them. But the people's reaction and the little kids saying 'oh look at the puppy, look at that color, what kind of dog is that' And they describe their dogs to us and it's very nice." Show Chairman Susan Richard said.

This was a special show for the Sioux Empire Kennel Club as they celebrated their 50th anniversary this year.
