Parts Of Bike Path To Close On Monday

October 27, 2012, 9:37 AM

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Construction that's part of a sewer replacement project will force part of the Sioux Falls bike path to be closed.

Starting on Monday, crews will be replacing the pedestrian bridge just west of Minnesota Avenue so the bike path will be closed from South Minnesota Avenue to the Tomar Park river bridge.

An alternate route will be provided during the closure.

This is part of the ongoing construction of the Sioux River South Sanitary Interceptor Sewer Replacement project.  The overall completion date for the project is November 30, 2012.

In addition, a bank stabilization project along the Big Sioux River near Tuthill Park for force another section of the bike trail to be closed.  This closure involves the path from Cliff Avenue to Pasley Park beginning on Monday.  It will report December 7.  There will be no pedestrian or bike traffic while this part of the trail is close.

Find detour information on the city's Bike Trail website.
