A Watertown woman faces up to 15 years in prison after being convicted of defrauding the federal government.
U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 38-year-old Jana Harford was convicted in federal court in Aberdeen on charges of theft of government funds and misuse of disability benefits. She also could be fined up to $500,000.
Harford was accused of defrauding the Old Age, Survivor, and Disability Insurance Program administered by the Social Security Administration. She is to be sentenced next April 15.
Johnson says Harford has used several last names, including Hagman, Becker and Jensen.
