MXC: Seven Vikings Earn All-NSIC Honors
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Augustana’s Paul Yak was named the NSIC Men’s Athlete of the Meet for his performance in the conference championship meet on Saturday the league announced on Monday afternoon. Augustana had seven runners earn All-NSIC laurels while head coach Tracy Hellman was named the NSIC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year for the fourth straight year.

Yak, a native of Storm Lake, Iowa, won the individual title for the second straight year as he paced the Vikings’ with a time of 24:59 on the 8k course. Augustana placed five of the top seven runners in the race as it won its fourth straight NSIC Championship.

Yak, Travis Beniak, Adam Braun, TJ Gleason and Nathan Hauge all earned first-team All-NSIC honors while Shane McCallum and Ryan Evans earned second-team honors.

Augustana, ranked fifth in the nation and first in the Central Region,  returns to action on Nov. 3 at the NCAA Regional tournament in Joplin, Mo.
