A U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum traveling exhibit examining the role scientists and doctors played in the Holocaust is set to open this week at the University of South Dakota.
The exhibit, titled "Deadly Medicine: Creating the Master Race," shows how Nazi leaders used science to help legitimize persecution, murder and genocide. It opens Thursday and runs through Jan. 6 at University Libraries on the USD campus.
The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Interim Dean of Libraries Daniel L. Daily says in a news release that University Libraries is proud to host the exhibit because it encourages people to critically examine the past and its ramifications in the present day.
