Avg. Amount Of SD Student Loan Debt: $24,000

Avg. Amount Of SD Student Loan Debt: $24,000
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

South Dakota college students are second in the nation when it comes to graduating with loans.

A study released on Thursday found 76 percent of South Dakota's class of 2011 graduated in debt.  That's slightly higher than last year and second to only North Dakota.

As far as the amount of debt, South Dakota is 25th in the nation.  The average graduate owes more than $24,000.

Keep in mind, not all schools report student debt data.  So, researchers say the actual dollar amount is likely higher.

Review the student debt report online.
