Tobacco Shop Owners Indicted

October 18, 2012, 5:28 PM by Peggy Moyer

Tobacco Shop Owners Indicted
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The owners of three Sioux Falls tobacco shops are among five people charged in cases involving synthetic drugs.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson announced the indictment of five individuals on conspiracy to distribute controlled substance analogues. Analogues are substances with a chemical structure similar to other controlled substances that are illegal.

Tom and Cynthia Harms are two of the five people on the list. The couple spoke with KELOLAND News off camera last July when state and federal agents raided their three 'Roll With It' tobacco shops in Sioux Falls.

The Luverne, Minnesota couple had just purchased the businesses on July 1 and said they didn’t know what agents were looking for because they had done nothing wrong.

They've been charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substance analogues and money laundering.

Three Sioux Falls residents have also been indicted on distributing controlled substance analogues.

They are 24-year-old Corey Brandon Morrison, 45-year-old Gwen Arlene Pike and 35-year-old Andrea Jean Anderson.

Morrison is also charged with one count of money laundering.

The United States Attorney's office will be prosecuting the case. No trial date has been set.
