Strong winds will continue through the rest of the day and into tomorrow. Some of the peak wind gusts so far…Rapid City & Lemmon 67 mph, Faith 64 mph, Philip 60 mph, Pierre 59 mph, Mobridge 55 mph, Yankton 47 mph, Huron 46 mph, Mitchell 45 mph, Aberdeen 40 mph, and Sioux Falls 37 mph. Some of these wind gusts will be a little stronger this evening and tomorrow.
Isolated showers will continue to roll through eastern KELOLAND late this afternoon and evening, but there will be better chances for rain tonight and tomorrow. The best chance will be along and east of the James River Valley with amounts of a quarter to a half inch possible, but isolated areas will get higher amounts. Along with the rain, the wind and cool air will continue. Highs for Thursday will only be in the forties and fifties.
Winds will die down Thursday night and Friday is looking dry and warmer. Highs on Friday will be in the fifties and sixties. The warming trend will continue into the weekend with highs in the sixties and low seventies on Saturday. A cold front on Sunday will cool much of KELOLAND back to the fifties, but it will remain dry.
