SIOUX FALLS, SD -
Business fronts in southern Sioux Falls that became a crime scene overnight are now back open to the public.
The strip mall at 57th Street and Western Avenue was closed as investigators with the Sioux Falls Police Department and Division of Criminal Investigation spent the day collecting evidence of an officer-involved shooting.
It began as a pursuit in western Sioux Falls when the Highway Patrol says a 25-year-old woman drove into the parking lots of the Bridges at 57th. That's where they say she hit Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Steen's car and then hit him. He is in critical condition.
The female suspect was also shot by law enforcement and left the scene but was arrested after crashing nearby. She is in the hospital but her name and condition are not being released.
