75-Year-Old Man Killed In Sioux Falls Crash

75-Year-Old Man Killed In Sioux Falls Crash

A Renner man died in a crash in eastern Sioux Falls Tuesday evening.

Sioux Falls police say 75-year-old James Heezen of Renner was a passenger in a Buick LeSabre that was hit by a Hummer H2 at East 10th Street and Chapel Hill Road.

The driver of the Buick, a 72-year-old Sioux Falls man, was trying to make a left turn from the eastbound lanes when the crash happened.  Police say a white SUV traveling in the inner westbound lane stopped and waved the car through.  That's when it was hit by the Hummer H2 that was in the outer westbound lane.

Police are now looking for the driver of the white SUV because they left the scene after the crash happened.

A 28-year-old woman was driving the Hummer H2.  She had her three children in the vehicle with her ages 9, 11 and 12.  They were wearing seat belts and not hurt in the crash.

Police had to divert traffic around the crash scene Tuesday evening.  They say the investigation is continuing.
