McGovern In Stable Condition After Fall

Former democratic presidential candidate George McGovern remained hospitalized Saturday night in stable condition.

The senator fell and hit his head Friday night outside of Dakota Wesleyan University's McGovern Library in Mitchell, getting ready for a live interview on C-SPAN.

Hospital officials say the senator is alert and resting comfortably, but that with any head injury, it's important to observe the situation closely.

The McGovern family is requesting privacy at this time and says in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Feeding South Dakota.
