McGovern Released From Florida Hospital

April 5, 2012, 5:41 PM

McGovern Released From Florida Hospital
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Former U.S. Senator George McGovern is out of the hospital.

McGovern was admitted to a Florida hospital earlier in the week for some tests.  His family says he was suffering from spells during which he would pass out and be unable to speak.

McGovern says doctors didn't find anything of concern in those tests; they believe he may have just been tired from his travel from South Dakota to Florida.

McGovern tells KELOLAND News, "South Dakota will have to put me up for awhile longer."

He had just been in South Dakota last weekend for the annual McGovern Day, which is a fundraising event for the South Dakota Democratic Party.
