New Yankton High School Students Get Grad Reminder

New Yankton High School Students Get Grad Reminder
YANKTON, SD -

New Yankton High School freshmen now have a daily reminder of their school future - a picture frame and note signed by the school's principal.

Wayne Kindle says the frame is meant to tell new students of the importance of graduating, and to tell them their high school years will go by faster than they expect. His note even pinpoints the new class' graduation day - May 22, 2016.

Freshman Tanner Dykstra says he'll put the frame in his bedroom. He says it will "keep motivating me throughout high school." Another freshman, Skylar Elle, calls the frame "a really good idea."

Freshman homeroom teacher Amy Miner calls the frame a good "focusing tool" that can be used to hold encouraging notes from friends.
