Vehicle Fire Sparks Explosions

October 7, 2012, 3:27 AM by Perry Groten

Vehicle Fire Sparks Explosions
SHERMAN, SD -

A series of small explosions made for a noisy fire call in Sherman, South Dakota early Sunday morning.

Flames from a burning van spread to a storage trailer parked next to the van.

The van was filled with ammunition that went off during the fire.

The owner had just purchased the van at an auction on Saturday and hadn't had time to remove the ammo from the vehicle.

No one was hurt.

Both the van and the trailer are total losses.

The cause is under investigation.

See pictures of the damage on KELOLAND This Morning.
