Crews Work To Contain Fire In Northeast SF
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Despite the cold weather, fire danger is still very much a threat across South Dakota.

On Friday, a grassfire blackened a field in Northeast Sioux Falls on East 60th Street North, just east of the I-229 overpass.

The fire broke out late Friday afternoon and crews had it under control by 5 p.m. Friday.

A couple who live in the area noticed the smoke Friday afternoon. They said the fire got close to their property, burning right up to the roadside. But, their property wasn’t damaged.

Crews will continue to be on the scene to clear up the hot spots.
