Some Areas Had Record Dry September

October 4, 2012, 5:21 PM by Scot Mundt

Some Areas Had Record Dry September

Thursday's winds are a reminder that as the season changes, the leaves and the temperatures change. But it seems the dry weather in KELOLAND has remained the same.

Areas in northern KELOLAND experienced their driest September on record. The list includes Pierre with only a trace, Aberdeen recorded 0.01 inch and Pierre and Mobridge recording 0.05 inches.

This is on the heels of record dry weather this summer for many in KELOLAND.

But a dry autumn after a dry summer isn't too uncommon. Four of the top ten driest summers in Sioux Falls have produced the top ten driest autumns.

While the wind blew in the colder temperatures, it hasn't helped in the rain department. Unfortunately, the lack of rain has been the theme for quite some time.
