One Person Dead In Two Vehicle Crash Near Spencer

SPENCER, SD -

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash south of Spencer on Wednesday.

It happened on the intersection of Highway 38 and 431st Avenue. A 2011 Lexus was in the north lane stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. The other vehicle, a 1996 Chevy Corsica, was driving west on Highway 38.

They collided and both vehicles rolled into the ditch.

The driver and passenger in the Lexus were wearing seatbelts and received minor injuries.

The driver of the Corsica was not wearing a seatbelt and received fatal injuries.

Names are being withheld until the families have been notified.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
