Major Renovation Planned For The Empire Mall

October 2, 2012, 11:47 AM by Shawn Neisteadt

Major Renovation Planned For The Empire Mall

Starting next year, the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls, which is South Dakota's number one tourist destination, will undergo major renovations.

It will be the first major renovation in the mall's history that dates back 37 years.

Representatives with the mall's owner's group say the outside will have significant changes, and almost every surface on the inside will be updated as well. The work wills start early next year with a goal to have everything finished by November 2013.

The mall will remain open during the construction with much of the work taking place at night.
