USD Lecture To Focus On Hutterite Culture
VERMILLION, SD -

An author who has extensive knowledge of the Hutterite communities in South Dakota is presenting at the University of South Dakota on Tuesday.

Joanita Kant will present "Hutterite Communities of South Dakota" at 5 p.m. at the campus' Andrew E. Lee Memorial Medicine & Science Building.

Kant has had contact with the communities since 1976 and has published several articles and books on the Hutterite culture. Her speech will cover a variety of topics about the communities, including their clothing, food customs and history.

The event is free and open to the public.
