Walk For The Fallen Held In Sioux Falls

Walk For The Fallen Held In Sioux Falls

On Saturday morning, families who've lost loved ones to wars overseas gathered to remember their fallen heroes.

The second annual Walk for the Fallen took place at Veteran's Memorial Park in Sioux Falls. And before the walk, participants gathered for a moment of silence and a reading of all 35 names of South Dakota soldiers who died in battle.

While organizers say the event is very low key, they were pleased with the turnout.

"It's very encouraging. It's very nice to know people haven't forgotten the sacrifices that have been made throughout the past 12 years,” event organizer Brad Steckelberg said.

A Walk for the Fallen was also held Saturday morning in Eagle Butte, South Dakota.
