SD Film Festival Kicks Off Thursday In Aberdeen
ABERDEEN, SD -

Film buffs across the Great Plains will be in cinema heaven starting Thursday as the sixth annual South Dakota Film Festival kicks off in Aberdeen.

The four-day event will feature more than 30 films in a variety of categories tied to the Great Plains Region.

This year's event will feature Jane Rosenthal, who co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival with Robert De Niro, and actor Graham Greene, who is known for his role as Kicking Bird in the 1990 films "Dances with Wolves," which was filmed in South Dakota, among other special guests.

Greene will take part in a "Thunderheart" retrospective at the festival. The 1992 film was shot in South Dakota.

Full passes to the festival cost $36, while VIP passes are $120. Individual sessions are $12.
