An Aberdeen man has been sentenced to six years in prison for assaulting his infant son.
28-year-old Jovan P. Primeaux was sentenced on Friday as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors
Primeaux previously pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault of a child younger than 3.
Authorities say Primeaux shook and injured his infant son between Feb. 1 and April 24. Court records show the child was born Feb. 1.
Authorities say doctors in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen found internal injuries to the child that were consistent with non-accidental head trauma.
