We’ll continue to have a very quiet and dry weather pattern. This morning we started Fall off officially with very cool air. With the equinox we’re close to equal lengths of days and nights but the days keep getting shorter. There is a leftover Freeze Warning for most of East River. That Freeze Warning comes back tomorrow morning and most of us will be colder tomorrow morning, as well.
Today will be very quiet. There should be few clouds and light winds. It’s really a great time of year to get outside! Highs today should only be in the 50s east of the James but slightly warmer in the Black Hills.
Many will bottom out in the 20s overnight. Calm winds and very clear skies mean that the chill will start soon after sunset. If you are out for a late dinner, you might notice a big change in just a short time.
Bluebird skies continue for most of the week, tomorrow included. Most will be about five degrees warmer, but that is about the only change.
If you are out for the Buffalo Roundup in Custer State Park on Monday, you will notice a warming trend. We’ll have 80s West River but another slight cool-down will arrive later in the week. There is a slim chance at light rains in far SW South Dakota Tuesday but about the only other chance of rain is early Thursday. That rain chance will be for the eastern counties.
