City Celebrates 200 Miles Of Street Improvements

September 20, 2012, 4:32 PM by Ben Dunsmoor

City Celebrates 200 Miles Of Street Improvements
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

It's the same distance as a drive from Sioux Falls to Aberdeen.

On Thursday, Sioux Falls celebrated 200 miles of street improvements.  They were all made during the last three construction seasons and include everything from maintenance work to major reconstructions.

Mayor Mike Huether says the milestone shows the city's dedication to making sure city streets are safe and smooth.

"The next time you make your trek to the North Dakota border or to Omaha, every mile along that journey, I want you to think about the 200 miles of roads you can now be much prouder of," Huether said.

Even with 200 miles of street improvements, there are still several more projects planned for next year.
