Funeral Scheduled For Salon Shooting Victim

Funeral Scheduled For Salon Shooting Victim
Amanda Connors

SIOUX FALLS, SD -

Memorial services have been scheduled for a 24-year-old woman fatally shot in front of a Sioux Falls hair salon.

A funeral service for Amanda Connors will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Reformed Church in Sioux Falls, with burial later that day.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Church of the Good Shepherd in Jackson, Minn., and one hour prior to the Sioux Falls service.

Police say Connors managed the Cost Cutters salon. She was killed Tuesday trying to protect an employee from the employee's boyfriend.

Authorities say Tyrone Smith shot Connors before locking himself in the store and tying up his girlfriend and coworkers. They say Smith let the four workers go a half hour later, then shot himself in the head.

A memorial fund is set up for Connors.  You can donate money to the Amanda Connors fund at any Wells Fargo bank.
