More Than 40,000 Shop At Arts Festival

September 8, 2012, 6:05 PM by Hailey Higgins

More Than 40,000 Shop At Arts Festival

The largest one day outdoor festival in the region overtook downtown Sioux Falls Streets on Saturday.

More than 40,000 shoppers swarmed the streets surrounding the Washington Pavilion.

The free event is a fundraiser for the Visual Arts Center, featuring 225 vendors from ten states.

"I personally take the yard art. Every year I add something different to my garden,” Sioux Falls resident Pat Price said.

"I was looking for some jewelry today [Saturday], some fun Christmas things, some birthday gifts and things for my grandson and I found it all,” Sioux Falls resident Jenny Rindsig said.

Vendors ranged from fine art, to folk art to food.
