Lake Area Tech Recoginized As Top Ten School

September 5, 2012, 4:52 PM by Erich Schaffhauser

Lake Area Tech Recoginized As Top Ten School
WATERTOWN, SD -

Lake Area Tech in Watertown has been recognized as a top ten school for the second year in a row.

The government hired an institute to conduct the study of two year schools. Lake Area made the top five last year and will be in the running for that distinction again now that it's made the top ten.

Lake Area got strong marks for student achievement and the placement rate.

Administrators say the award is a positive for the entire state.

“Just the recognition of South Dakota as a state and the exceptional post secondary education that we have here,” Lake Area Vice President Michael Cartney said.

Lake Area Tech was just one of four schools from last year's top ten that made the list again this year.

Mitchell Tech didn't make this cut but was recognized in the top ten percent of two year schools.
