Traveling Hairstylist Cuts Hair For Good Cause

September 2, 2012, 5:31 PM by Jenna Petrak

Traveling Hairstylist Cuts Hair For Good Cause
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

50 haircuts in 50 states all in 50 days may sound impossible, but a Kansas hairstylist is determined to do just that.

Patrick Lomantini is making his way across the U.S., spending one day in each state cutting hair. He's charging $20 per hair cut and donating the proceeds to local animal shelters.

And on day 33 of his trip, he stopped in Sioux Falls. All of the money he'll make on Sunday will go to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.

While Lomantini admits what he's doing is a little outrageous, he says it's worth it.

"And it's more than just me cutting hair, it's about bringing awareness to the communities for what the shelters, humane societies, rescues do for the local community," Lomantini said.

Lomantini is on pace to do 3,000 haircuts this year and raise around $70,000.
