MITCHELL, SD -

Republican U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem and Democratic challenger Matt Varilek are scheduled to face off on farm issues Wednesday during a debate in Mitchell.

The 2 p.m. debate at the annual Dakotafest farm show will concentrate specifically on South Dakota agricultural issues.

It's organized by the South Dakota Corn Growers Association and South Dakota State University.

Corn Growers President Lisa Richardson says these are critical times in agriculture, and organizers are looking forward to bringing the candidates together to discuss the issues.
