Estimates Suggest Traffic Counts At Rally Up
RAPID CITY, SD -

Early traffic counts suggest that crowds for the 2012 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally are up from last year.

More than 416,000 vehicles entered Sturgis Friday through Wednesday, up 7.9 percent from last year.

The busiest traffic day of the rally so far was last Saturday.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it has made 198 DUI arrests district-wide so far as of Friday morning. Authorities have made 134 misdemeanor and 23 felony drug arrests, and the patrol has issued almost 900 total citations.
