Possible Rain Over The Next Few Days

August 1, 2012, 6:07 PM by Scot Mundt

Possible Rain Over The Next Few Days

We're about to quench the parched ground in eastern KELOLAND because rain is expected to fall over the next couple of days.

Looks like the rain will come at us in two punches; the first will mainly affect southeast KELOLAND Wednesday night where some areas will get a good dose of rain.

We averaged the amounts of rain from the American and European forecast model runs from early Wednesday morning.

During the first wave Wednesday night, south central and southeast KELOLAND have the best chance at heavy rain. The models averaged over an inch in Chamberlain and Yankton. Then there's a dramatic drop-off to about a third to a quarter inch for everyone else in the central and southeast.

The second wave moves through Friday and Friday night to give north central and northeast KELOLAND the best chance for heavy rain. The models averaged close to an inch in Mobridge and Aberdeen during that time, and then the amounts drop off as you head south.

Keep in mind there's also a chance for severe weather with the storms. But, many will take that chance if it means a better chance for rain.
