Apart from evening showers and storms, many will have a quiet night. Still, the chances are better tonight than for much of the week. Aberdeen and Rapid City could get light rains and Pierre could see a few lingering raindrops.
Tomorrow will likely bring less rain to KELOLAND. The southeast will have a few more clouds initially but many will have plentiful sunshine. Once again, a few storms should form in the Hills as moisture pools in Wyoming.
Wednesday into Thursday the ridge pattern starts to flatten east and west as opposed to right over our heads. That becomes interesting because each computer model wants to do something different with rain chances and timing. The best chances lie Friday and into Saturday but there could be scattered showers Thursday.
Along with rain potential there will be a cooldown coming next weekend. A new drought monitor will be released next Thursday and we'll see if the rapid increase in drought speed continues.
