No Charges To Be Filed In Mitchell Infant Death

July 19, 2012, 8:54 AM by Ben Dunsmoor

No Charges To Be Filed In Mitchell Infant Death
MITCHELL, SD -

No charges will be filed in connection with the death of an infant at a day care in Mitchell last month.

Thursday morning the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office announced that the death of three-month-old Brooklyn Howard on June 19 will not result in any criminal prosecution.

Initially the death was called suspicious but in a news release Thursday the Attorney General’s Office said another young child at the day care contributed to the death of the infant.

Attorney General Marty Jackley and Davison County State’s Attorney Pat Smith offered their condolences to the family of Brooklyn Howard Thursday.
