The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation's sole grocery store reopened Saturday morning.
Store employee Ramona Vocu says Sioux Nation Shopping Center reopened around 9 a.m. About 10 to 20 people were shopping at the store.
The store was initially closed May 11 after Oglala Sioux President John Yellow Bird Steele filed a temporary injunction following allegations the store was selling outdated meat. A second injunction was filed Thursday amid concerns the store's reopening could spark protests among residents.
But Vocu says the store opened without any problems Saturday morning. She says she is happy to be back at work.
