Radio Listeners Raise $290K For Kids With Cancer

Radio Listeners Raise $290K For Kids With Cancer
SIOUX FALLS, SD -

The annual Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon raised $291,317 for Sanford Children's Hospital.

Seven radio stations in Sioux Falls hosted the 36-hour event last week as listeners pledged money to help local children fight cancer.

Children and their families who are affected by childhood cancer shared their stories as Sanford physicians and staff explained how they're helping cure them.

All of the funds raised go toward programs and services for Sanford Children’s pediatric cancer patients and families.  That includes direct child and family assistance, pediatric cancer education and research, and a camp for children with cancer.

You can hear more from the families who are impacted by pediatric cancer and other childhood medical challenges on this year's Children's Miracle Network Special.   The hour-long broadcast will air Thursday at 7 p.m. on KELO TV.
