It's your chance to make a difference in a sick child's life, including the 41 children who have been diagnosed with cancer in our area over the last year.
This year's Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon started Wednesday. It's put on by Sanford Children's Hospital and Results Radio. The event aims to raise money to help kids fight cancer.
This year, they want to raise more money than last year when they raised nearly $232,000.
During the Radiothon, families share personal stories about how their lives have been impacted. Doctors and staff also talk about the progress being made against cancer.
"The biggest thing to keep in mind with Cure Kids Cancer is that 100 percent of the funds that we raise stay local to help our pediatric oncology kids right here in our area, whether they're from Sioux Falls, Watertown, Aberdeen, Vermillion. If they're in our area, we're going to help them. 100 percent of those funds will go where the listeners want it to go, right to those kids," Kim Haiar with CMN/Cure Kids Cancer said.
You can listen in on several stations to make your pledge, including MIX 97.3, KIKN Country 100.5, B 102.7 and Hot 104.7.
The Radiothon started Wednesday and continues from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
